Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering practice. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API-driven systems as an embedded member of delivery teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IS or related field.
3–6 years in software quality engineering with 2+ years in test automation.
Hands-on with modern UI automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress).
Experience in API testing, REST, authentication, and contract/schema validation.
CI/CD integration and Git-based version control experience.
Understanding of Agile, SDLC, and defect workflows.
Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholder discussions.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain automated functional, regression, and integration tests for web, mobile, and API layers.
Develop reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and BDD patterns.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so every build signals quality.
Translate acceptance criteria into clear, traceable test scenarios with product owners.
Triage failing tests, identify root causes, and separate defects from test issues.
Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing with specialty teams.
Report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
Mentor junior engineers and client staff on automation practices and testing design.
Participate in agile ceremonies, estimation, and sprint planning.
