Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering practice. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites for client engagements spanning web, mobile, and API-driven systems.

You’ll work embedded with cross-functional delivery teams, focusing on quality as a continuous, measurable part of the software lifecycle. The role demands adaptability as project stacks vary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years in software quality engineering with at least 2 years in test automation.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with modern UI automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).
• API testing experience including REST, authentication patterns, and contract validation.
• Experience CI/CD integration and Git-based workflows.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Create reusable frameworks using page object, data-driven, and BDD patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for meaningful quality signals.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios.
• Triage failures, identify root causes, and distinguish defects from environment issues.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing with specialist teams.
• Report quality metrics and mentor junior engineers.
