Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test suites across web, mobile, and API layers. You will join cross-functional delivery teams and help make quality a continuous, measurable part of the software lifecycle.

This consulting role requires adaptability, strong communication, and the ability to assess and implement pragmatic automation within engagement timelines. Hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, information systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of software quality engineering experience, including at least 2 years in test automation.
• Proficiency in at least one OO/scripting language (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#).
• Hands-on experience with modern UI automation tools (Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress).
• Experience with API testing (REST, authentication patterns, and contract/schema validation).
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery and SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Create reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and BDD patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to produce quality signals on each build.
• Translate acceptance criteria into clear, traceable test scenarios with stakeholders.
• Triage failing tests and distinguish defects from test/environment issues.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing efforts.
• Report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and client team members on automation practices.
