Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering practice. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API systems and work as part of cross-functional delivery teams to ensure quality throughout the software lifecycle.

The role emphasizes adaptability across projects, collaboration with product owners and analysts, and mentoring teammates on automation practices within a hybrid consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IS.
• 3–6 years in software quality engineering with at least 2 years in test automation.
• Automation languages: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• UI automation tools: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
• API testing with REST, authentication patterns, and contract/schema validation.
• CI/CD integration and Git version control.
• Solid understanding of agile delivery and defect workflows.
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Create reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and BDD patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for meaningful quality signals.
• Translate acceptance criteria into clear, traceable test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests and distinguish defects from test instability.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing efforts.
• Define and report quality metrics to teams and clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and client team members on automation practices.
