Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering practice. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API systems, embedded within cross-functional delivery teams to make quality an ongoing, measurable part of software delivery.

You will adapt to changing tech stacks across engagements, assess current testing landscapes, and propose pragmatic automation approaches that deliver value within project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science or related field.
• Three to six years of software quality engineering experience, with at least two years in test automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated functional, regression, and integration tests for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Build and extend reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and BDD patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so every build includes quality signals.
• Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests, identify root causes, and distinguish product defects from test instability.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing with specialist teams.
• Define and report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and client team members on automation practices and test design.
