Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering practice. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites across web, mobile, and API layers, embedded in delivery teams with developers, analysts, and client stakeholders to make quality continuous and measurable.

The role requires adapting to changing technology stacks across projects, strong communication, and the ability to assess testing landscapes and implement pragmatic automation approaches

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Three to six years of professional experience in software quality engineering, with at least two years focused on test automation.
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or scripting language used for automation (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#).
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience integrating automated suites into a CI/CD pipeline and working with Git-based version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated functional, regression, and integration tests for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Build and extend reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and BDD patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines so every build yields a quality signal.
• Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests and distinguish defects from test instability or environment issues.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing efforts with specialist teams.
• Define and report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and client team members on automation practices and test design.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning with a focus on testability.
