Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering practice. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API-driven systems as an embedded member of cross-functional delivery teams.

The role requires adapting to varying project tech stacks and collaborating with developers, BAs, and client stakeholders to make quality a continuous, measurable part of delivery. This is a hybrid consulting role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Three to six years of professional quality engineering experience, with at least two focused on test automation.
• Hands-on with UI automation tools: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Experience with API testing (REST), authentication patterns, and contract/schema validation.
• Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD and Git-based workflows.
• Strong understanding of Agile, SDLC, and defect management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Develop reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and behavior-driven patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure meaningful quality signals.
• Collaborate with product owners and analysts to translate acceptance criteria into test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests and distinguish defects from environment issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal automation practice.
