Job summary

Rust-Oleum Corporation is seeking an Area Manager to drive sales across Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. The role requires managing a field sales territory, developing plans, and supporting dealers with merchandising, pricing, and promotions. Travel will be 40-50% with assignments in major Western metros.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of outside sales experience, a business degree, and strong communication skills. Company car, cell phone, and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years outside sales experience preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent.
• Retail account selling experience preferred; Hardware Co-Op a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with time and territory management skills.
• Willingness to travel 40-50% within territory.

Responsibilities

• Increase sales within dealer/retailer base using category management.
• Identify customer needs for product and planogram recommendations.
• Develop and follow a territory management plan to maximize coverage.
• Use Go Canvas CRM to track calls and progress.
• Provide merchandising, pricing, and promotional support to dealers.
• Attend grand-openings, in-store events, and industry trade shows.
