Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies in Minnesota is seeking an outside salesperson to grow our customer base by developing repeat relationships within existing accounts and opening new business. You will collaborate with an experienced inside sales team to understand customer applications, analyze needs, and position solutions.

Responsibilities include achieving sales and profit goals, presenting products, negotiating terms, and closing deals while delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ knowledge of fluid power components, systems, & applications or 1+ year industrial sales experience
• Basic computer skills
• Hands-on product demonstrations for customers; mechanical aptitude
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or equivalent (preferred)
• 3+ years of sales experience in similar industries (preferred)
• Fluid Power certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales and profit goals by developing existing customers, opening new business, and customer retention
• Conduct sales and service activities, develop customer relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products and services
• Partner with manufacturer reps and support teams to specify products and systems
• Prepare quotes and proposals, negotiate terms, and close transactions
• Organize and conduct training sessions for customers, survey market and competitive conditions
• Complete reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads and other related reports
• Monitor customer issues and manage orders and deliveries as required
