Job summary

Benihana - Torrance is seeking a skilled hibachi chef to engage guests and provide a memorable dining experience. You will cook in front of guests on hibachi grills, ensuring portion control, safety, and cleanliness, while delivering exceptional hospitality.

Responsibilities include greeting guests within 15 minutes of seating, performing cooking shows, answering menu questions, and maintaining a clean, organized station. Prior chef or cook experience is preferred; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass Benihana chef training program.
• Previous experience as a chef or cook is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order.
• Perform a cooking show for assigned tables with courteous interaction.
• Provide information about Benihana foods as cooked.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and preferences.
• Prepare diverse meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking at hibachi grills.
• Maintain clean and sanitized hibachi tables and kitchen areas.
