Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Patient Access Liaison (PAL) to support patients, caregivers, and providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement pathways for Amgen therapies. This field-based role collaborates with Market Access and Site of Care teams to ensure timely access to therapies.

You will educate on prior authorization, coding, and billing, manage patient cases, and resolve barriers. Travel up to 50% is expected in this matrix field role.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD or equivalent healthcare degree with strong reimbursement knowledge.
• Experience with buy-and-bill or infused therapies and reimbursement processes preferred.
• Excellent communication and analytical/problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to work in a matrix field environment and travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource on patient access and reimbursement for infused and specialty therapies.
• Assist patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance benefits, prior authorization requirements, and reimbursement processes.
• Support the identification and resolution of access challenges, including coverage questions, prior authorization barriers, and denied claims.
• Provide education regarding coding and billing considerations relevant to therapy access.
• Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, virtual, and in-person engagement.
• Educate physician offices and sites of care on therapy coverage pathways and reimbursement processes.
