Job summary

City of Austin is seeking a maintenance technician to support storm drainage construction and rehabilitation projects. Under supervision, you will perform equipment maintenance, operate tools, and assist with traffic control and concrete work at public works sites.

You will work in outdoor environments, interact with the public, and may participate in on-the-job training, including CDL-related skills, to meet department goals.

Qualifications

• Six months of maintenance, construction or concrete work.
• Valid Class C driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to learn safety regulations and operate tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment for job tasks.
• Conduct traffic control and set up safety barriers at worksites.
• Build concrete forms and pour concrete for storm drainage projects.
• Assist with storm drainage construction and rehabilitation work.
