The City of Austin is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Worker to support storm drainage construction and rehabilitation projects in the Watershed Protection Department. Under supervision, you will perform tasks in public works, use hand tools, operate small equipment, and assist with road maintenance and erosion control, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include traffic control, concrete form building, landscape work, and documentation.

Formación

• Six (6) months experience in maintenance and/or construction and/or concrete work.
• Valid Class "C" Driver's License. Must maintain a good driving record.

Responsabilidades

• Performs preventative equipment maintenance and minor repairs; reports issues to crew lead or supervisor.
• Operates hand tools and small equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Performs traffic control at job sites; places and removes cones, signs and barricades.
• Builds concrete forms and structures; pours concrete and prepares bedding material for pipe placement.
• Performs landscape maintenance and erosion control; trims trees and lays sod.
• Works in storm water management facilities and open waterways; supports with emergency response when required.
