The City of Austin is seeking a Construction and Maintenance Worker to assist with the construction and rehabilitation of storm drainage infrastructure within the Watershed Protection Department. This role involves operating tools and equipment, performing traffic control, building concrete forms, and landscape maintenance with some public contact.

Requirements include at least six months of maintenance/construction experience, a valid Class C Driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors

Qualifications

Six months experience in maintenance and/or construction and/or concrete work.
Ability to read, write and follow written, oral and computerized instructions.
Ability to learn safety regulations and demonstrate safety requirements.
Valid Class C Driver’s License and good driving record.

Responsabilités

Performs preventative equipment maintenance and minor repairs; reports issues with ZONAR to supervisor.
Operates hand tools and light/heavy equipment.
Performs traffic control, places cones, signs and barricades.
Builds concrete forms and structures; pours concrete and lays bedding material.
Performs landscape maintenance and erosion control.
Works in storm water management facilities and during emergencies.
Maintains daily logs and inventory records.
