Job summary

Volunteer State Community College, VSCC-Livingston Center, seeks a Temporary IT Technician Assistant to provide courteous and timely assistance for employees and students operating faculty and staff workstations and computer labs on campus.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware/software issues, deploying images, maintaining printers, and communicating technical concepts to non-technical users. Minimum qualification: high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft applications and strong familiarity with Microsoft software.
• Ability to learn new software.
• Excellent telephone, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Provide IT support for students and employees for various technical issues including but not limited to minor hardware and software problems, email, and install, relocate, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair a broad range of networked and non-networked client hardware devices and software applications. Deploy computer images. Create and elevate work orders for IT personnel when issue cannot be resolved. Perform light maintenance on printers. Communicate technical concepts to non-technical users. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience with Microsoft applications and strong familiarity with Microsoft software.

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
