Job summary

Volunteer State Community College is seeking a Temporary- IT Technician Assistant to support employees and students at the VSCC-Livingston Center. The role involves assisting with workstation operations and computer labs across college campuses.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware/software, deploying images, and creating work orders, while communicating technical concepts to non-technical users and performing light printer maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with Microsoft applications and familiarity with Microsoft software.
• Excellent telephone, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.

Job Summary:

To provide courteous and timely assistance for employees andstudents for the operation of faculty and staff workstations andcomputer labs on the Volunteer State Community Collegecampuses.

Job Duties:

• Provide IT support for students and employees for various technicalissues including but not limited to minor hardware and softwareproblems, email, and install, relocate, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair a broad range of networked and non-networked client hardware devices and software applications.
• Deploy computer images.
• Create and elevate work orders for IT personnel when issue cannot be resolved.
• Perform light maintenanceon printers.
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience with Microsoft applications and strong familiarity withMicrosoft software.
• Ability to learn new software.
• Excellent telephone, verbal, written, and interpersonalcommunication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Pay Rate:

$16.00 per hour
