Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Case Manager to lead district-wide duties under IDEA and 504. You will coordinate evaluations, chair IEP/504 meetings, and ensure timely, compliant implementation of services for students with disabilities.

You will work with principals and staff to align instruction with IEP goals, maintain accurate records in the SSM system, and collaborate with families, translators, and specialists to support inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a Master’s degree in educational administration.
• A valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in one of the following areas: Special Education (PK-Age 21) endorsement or School Support Personnel endorsement with a supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: expertise in special education curriculum and service provision; knowledge of MTSS/RTI; ability to communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at required meetings under the IDEA and as the 504 Coordinator for Section 504 meetings.
• Coordinate referrals for Full and Individual Evaluations (FIE) and ensure timeliness within 60 school days after parental consent.
• Chair and document IEP and 504 conferences and finalize plans in the SSM system.
• Ensure IEP teams use qualitative and quantitative data when making service decisions.
• Provide training and support to school staff on IDEA and Section 504 requirements.
• Arrange special education and related services per IEP and liaise with ODLSS for inter-school placements when needed.
