Job summary

The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Case Manager within the Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services to coordinate IDEA and Section 504 processes for students with disabilities in Chicago schools. This role focuses on timelines, parental communication, and collaboration to ensure access to core instruction in students\' native languages where feasible.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in special education.
• Expertise in special education curriculum and service provision.
• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI and federal/state laws for special education.
• Understanding CPS resources and collaborative stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to use data to guide service decisions and document effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local district representative for IDEA and 504 timelines.
• Coordinate referrals for Full and Individual Evaluations (FIE).
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences and ensure compliance at meetings.
• Finalize IEP/504 plans and ensure timely data entry in SSM.
• Arrange special education services and contact ODLSS for placements.
• Train staff on IDEA/504 requirements and conduct ongoing support.
• Collaborate with principals and schedulers to implement IEPs.
