Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Case Manager to serve as the District Representative for IDEA/504 meetings and coordinate comprehensive evaluations and IEPs for students with disabilities. The role emphasizes rigorous timelines, collaboration with families, and ensuring access to appropriate services within the school setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating FIE referrals, ensuring compliance with parental consent and notices, and guiding IEP teams with data-driven service decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in special education or Master’s in educational administration.
• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education or School Support Personnel with supervisory endorsement.
• Two or more years of experience in special education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the local school district representative at required meetings under the IDEA and as the 504 Coordinator for Section 504.
• Coordinate all referrals for a Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) ensuring timely completion.
• Chair IEP and 504 conferences as District Representative and ensure data-driven decisions in IEP development.
• Ensure IDEA and 504 timelines are met and notices/consents are managed.
