Job summary

Barnes & Noble, Inc. is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Help Desk Technician to serve as the first line of IT support for the Distribution Center and DC Operations. You will provide in-house and remote end-user tech support for desktops, printers and related devices, ensuring operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities include hardware/software maintenance, AD user management, and documenting resolutions. The role requires flexibility for weekend shifts and on-call coverage, with an hourly starting

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Information Technology or related field, or 1–3 years of supported Windows experience.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, configuring, maintaining and repairing IT hardware and software.
• Experience supporting a WMS is strongly preferred.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting TCP/IP and wireless networking.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to interface with end-users.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and upgrade PC hardware, software and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues using knowledge of hardware, software and DC systems.
• Notify appropriately when tasks are outside scope of technician.
• Administer Active Directory for user accounts per security guidelines.
• Research and test new software/hardware implementations.
• Monitor and track issues to ensure timely resolutions.
• Create and update documentation for future problem resolution.
• Be flexible with schedule, including weekends, and be available for on-call support.
