Job summary

Burnett Specialists seeks an experienced HR Generalist (Temporary) to provide hands-on support in benefits administration, HR operations, employee relations, and recruiting. This in-office role spans collaboration with HR leadership to deliver effective HR services across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HR experience, a bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Excel and UKG HRIS. This temporary assignment runs through year-end and is based in Downtown Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
• Experience in law firm, legal environment, or professional services is required.
• Strong Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with HRIS systems; UKG is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of employment laws at federal, state, and local levels.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Benefits Administration: support enrollment, eligibility tracking, leave administration, respond to inquiries, maintain audit of benefits data, coordinate with vendors.
• HR Operations: forecast workforce, verify employment, administer reimbursements, support reporting and data analysis, maintain HR records.
• Employee Relations: respond to policy questions, support engagement, conduct check-ins and exits, partner with HR leadership.
• Recruiting & Talent Acquisition: schedule interviews, post openings, source candidates, perform reference checks, assist onboarding.
