HR Generalist (Temporary)
Location: Downtown Parking: Validated Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm / In-office only Temp: Until the end of the year (2 months) Pay: $42 - $48/hour ($87,360 - $99,840)
Position Overview
A prestigious professional services firm is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide hands-on support in benefits administration, HR operations, employee relations, and recruiting. This individual will work closely with HR leadership and the HR team to ensure the effective delivery of human resources services while supporting employees across the organization.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
- Previous experience within a law firm, legal environment, or professional services organization required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with HRIS systems; UKG experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Benefits Administration Provide support for benefits administration and serve as backup during peak periods. Assist with benefits enrollment, eligibility tracking, and leave administration. Respond to employee inquiries regarding routine benefits matters. Maintain and audit benefits data for accuracy and compliance. Perform benefits reconciliations and coordinate corrections with vendors as needed. Prepare benefits documentation for departing employees. Assist in preparing employee communications related to benefits programs.
- HR Operations Prepare monthly workforce forecasts and analyze variances. Process verification of employment requests. Administer employee reimbursement programs. Support HR reporting, data analysis, and special projects. Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
- Employee Relations Respond to routine employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures. Support employee engagement initiatives, events, and internal communications. Assist with employee check-ins and exit interviews. Provide support on employee relations matters while partnering closely with HR leadership.
- Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Coordinate interview scheduling and recruitment activities. Post job openings and assist in sourcing efforts. Conduct professional reference checks. Support onboarding and recruitment administration. Assist with additional HR-related projects and responsibilities as assigned.
