Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leading US fleet maintenance company, seeks a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist for a temporary role in the Charlotte, NC area. You will reconcile invoices, maintain ledgers, verify vendor accounts, and respond to inquiries while ensuring accuracy in a multi-field environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in accounts payable, strong Excel and MS Office skills, and experience with fleet or maintenance systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in accounts payable with general ledger accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
• Conduct independent research, follow-up, and resolution of PO/variance/matching/receiving issues.
• Maintain vendor records, resolve disputes, and build strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiencies.
• Plan daily 3rd party services to manage workload.
• Initiates, cultivates and maintains relationships with vendors and Amerit customers.
• Process all incoming purchase order and non-purchase order invoices; verify for multi-field environment.
• Interact with internal partners to answer questions and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and take proper action on past due billings.
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
