Job summary

Columbia Bank in New Jersey seeks a Universal Banker – Teller Supervisor to oversee daily teller operations, security, and training within the branch. You will oversee teller activities, approve certain deposits, and support new accounts while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires 2–4 years in teller and supervisory roles, a high school diploma or GED, strong knowledge of banking products, and excellent communication and detail-oriented skills. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of teller, platform and supervisory experience.
• High school diploma, GED or higher.
• Strong knowledge of banking products.
• Sound judgment in decision making and problem solving.
• Precise figure aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Strong PC skills and demonstrated knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervises teller operations and oversees the teller portion of Universal Banking training.
• Schedules hours and work assignments for all teller personnel; participates in performance appraisals.
• Ensures daily consolidation of teller sheets and maintains security of teller area; manages vault operations.
• Approves transactions on selected deposit accounts and verifies signatures.
• Processes return items, overdrafts, and items for collection; researches items and accounts.
• Performs teller activities and assists in the new accounts area as needed.
• Handles adjustments to accounts and certificates; processes business account transactions and night drops.
• Performs other duties; may assist in areas as needed.
