Job summary

Columbia Bank in Pompton Lakes, NJ is seeking a Universal Operations Specialist II to oversee teller operations and support universal banking training. This role supervises teller staff, coordinates schedules, and helps ensure accurate daily consolidations and vault security.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of teller and supervisory experience, a high school diploma or GED, strong knowledge of banking products, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years teller, platform and supervisory experience.
• High school diploma, GED or higher.
• Strong knowledge of banking products.
• Sound judgment in decision making and problem solving.
• Precise figure aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Strong PC skills and knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises teller operations and schedules hours for teller personnel; participates in performance appraisals.
• Ensures daily consolidation of teller sheets and resolves problems in teller area.
• Maintains teller area security and vault opening/closing; supports branch security.
• Approves transactions on selected deposits beyond teller limits.
• Processes return items and items for collection; handles overdrafts within approved limits.
• Performs teller activities and assists in new accounts area as needed.
• Handles account adjustments and night drops; performs other duties as assigned.
