Job summary

The Virginia Department of Social Services, DCSE Roanoke District, is seeking a Support Enforcement Specialist to manage child support cases, locate non-custodial parents, assess obligations, and coordinate with state agencies.

You will build relationships with families, strive for payment collection, and navigate high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment; telework may be available and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Interact with a diverse public to tactfully solve problems in service delivery.
• Ability to collect information through interviews and document analysis to determine actions.
• Plan, organize, and handle multiple priorities in a case management setting.
• Interpret and apply laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance and positive outcomes.
• Proficient use of a PC, email, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Locate non-custodial parents and establish paternity.
• Collaborate with state and local agencies on case matters.
• Assess and determine child support obligations and health care coverage.
• Ensure compliance with orders through administrative and judicial actions.
• Provide testimony in court when required and support families.
• Build partnerships to support self-sufficiency and active parental involvement.
