Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital, part of Jefferson Health, is seeking an experienced RN to lead a designated unit, applying the nursing process to diverse patient needs and supporting Magnet and Shared Governance initiatives. The role emphasizes clinical leadership, staff mentoring, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 3 years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
• Effective communication and partnership with patients and families.
• Knowledge of discharge planning and care coordination.
• Active RN license in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the unit and mentor staff.
• Serve as a clinical resource on policies, procedures and safety.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary plans of care for quality outcomes.
• Support patient throughput optimization from admission to discharge.
• Assist in staffing, payroll coordination, and scheduling.

Education

Specialized Diploma

BSN (preferred)

Active PA RN license

Certification in specialty

3 years RN experience (acute care)
