Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced registered nurse to lead unit operations, coordinate care, and support magnet and governance initiatives. You will collaborate with interprofessional teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and efficient patient throughput from admission to discharge.

The role requires a specialized nursing diploma, 3+ years in acute care, and PA RN licensure, with strong communication, cultural awareness, and care coordination

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 3 years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
• Effective Communication—Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and interpret ideas with patients and families.
• Patient-and Family-Centered Practice—Knowledge of respecting patients and families in care.
• Cultural Awareness—Knowledge of diverse backgrounds and respectful care.
• Care Coordination—Integrating multidisciplinary treatments for patient care.
• Patient Safety—Knowledge of patient safety risks and mitigation.
• Discharge Planning—Planning post-discharge needs.
• Assessment and Diagnosis—Clinical judgement and assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading the daily operations of a specific unit.
• Provide safe, compassionate and coordinated care respecting patient preferences.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to plan care and ensure quality outcomes.
• Coordinate patient throughput and discharge optimization.
• Manage staff scheduling and payroll processes with Nurse Manager.
• Support Magnet and Shared Governance initiatives and professional development.
