Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• 3 years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
• Effective Communication—transmit, receive and interpret ideas with patients and families.
• Patient-and Family-Centered Practice—respect and collaboration with patients and families.
• Cultural Awareness—work with diverse populations.
• Care Coordination—integrate multidisciplinary treatments for optimal care.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Communicates with interprofessional teams, patients, families, and care partners.
• Collaborates with medical staff to ensure consistent care plans across shifts.
• Assesses patient needs and makes care recommendations balancing physical, psychosocial, and cultural factors.
• Facilitates patient throughput across admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Provides schedules and coordinates on-call duties; resolves issues and complaints.
• Monitors staffing levels; manages overtime and payroll with Nurse Manager.
• Supports professional development and Magnet/Shared Governance participation.
