Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to operate telemetry systems, document patient data, and coordinate with nursing staff for continuous patient monitoring. The role requires accuracy in rhythm interpretation and timely communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required; CRAT (cert rhythm analysis tech) or CET (cert EKG tech) within 18 months of hire.
• Previous experience as a cardiac monitor clerk or similar telemetry role.
• AHA BLS certification required or obtained before end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Operate telemetry monitors and ensure clear wave forms.
• Maintain rhythm strips and logs; document patient identifiers and transmitter numbers.
• Admit/discharge patients to telemetry; coordinate with RN and other departments for coverage.
• Perform EKGs as required and recognize/record abnormalities.
• Communicate patient rhythm data to physicians and team while maintaining confidentiality.
• Assist in training new monitor technicians and participate in unit initiatives.
