Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Technician to support the nursing team by coordinating and monitoring telemetry on the unit. You will observe rhythms, identify potential and lethal rhythms, and communicate urgent findings to the appropriate caregiver while maintaining accurate monitoring documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a cardiac monitoring course within one year of hire.
• Previous experience working with computers and cardiac monitoring preferred.
• No licensure or certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms for assigned patients and identify potential or lethal rhythms with timely communication.
• Review routine and abnormal rhythm strips and document findings per unit protocols.
• Track patients on and off telemetry and communicate relevant information to nursing staff.
• Manage telemetry assignments, monitoring data, unit logs and census information.
• Maintain forms and supplies related to cardiac monitoring and report discrepancies.
