Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group seeks an experienced Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and on-site construction for major industrial projects. You will lead design reviews, sequence planning and bid package development to ensure complete scope coverage.

The role involves coordinating with internal teams and contractors across sites with travel, electronics and low-voltage expertise, and a focus on constructability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years experience in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving design and constructability concerns related to engineering drawings and specs.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on design and modularization options.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long-lead activities and align with design/construction schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages based on design for contractor award.
• Coordinate stakeholders for full construction WBS and scope clarity.
• Review Vendor Data Requirements submittals for constructability impacts.
