Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager - Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects across the United States, with up to 50% travel. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, assess constructability, and develop preconstruction plans for telecom and low voltage work on site.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction management, plus a relevant bachelor’s degree and technical training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years experience in industrial construction management
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns, discrepancies or disputes related to engineering drawings and specifications
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or modularization capabilities
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement through design phase
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with design and schedule
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure development
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability and impact on packages
