Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects, including telecom and low voltage work on site. The role requires coordinating with internal teams and contractors to ensure complete scope coverage during construction.

The ideal candidate will have extensive construction management experience in industrial settings, plus certifications such as BICSI/ICT (RCDD, DCDC) and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years experience in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering drawings and specifications for construction
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving design and constructability concerns in engineering drawings and specs.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities based on design and potential modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with design and construction schedules.
• Develop and review construction bid packages based on design for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure development.
• Review Vendor Data Requirements submittals for constructability and impacts
