Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. You will lead cross‑functional teams, coordinate with contractors, and shape preconstruction plans for telecom and low voltage work on site across multiple future locations with travel up to 50%.

The role requires 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management, plus a bachelor’s degree or equivalent construction

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent construction experience with certified training.
• Solid understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical drawings for construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design and constructability issues.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities based on design.
• Engage early with trade partners during design phase.
• Organize cross‑discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage for sequencing.
• Identify long lead risks and synchronize with design and schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate full WBS across stakeholders and review vendor data submittals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training
