Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Preconstruction Manager - Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. The role requires coordinating with internal teams and contractors to develop complete bid packages and ensure constructability in telecom and low voltage work on site.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction, a Bachelor’s in engineering, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns, discrepancies or disputes related to technical interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or modularization capabilities.
• Identify trade partners to be involved in early contractor engagement through design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of telecom and low voltage regarding construction sequencing and build out.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities related to site restrictions or fabrication timelines and synchronize with design/construction schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award with internal project teams.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction WBS to cover complete scope.
• Assist with reviews of Vendor Data Requirement submittals during design phase for constructability and impact to issued packages.
