Job summary

OPTK Networks in Lincoln, NE, is seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to oversee our field teams and ensure timely service delivery for clients in the telecommunications sector.

You will lead, train, and coach technicians, coordinate scheduling and dispatch, and collaborate with Engineering, Service Delivery, and partners to maintain high-quality standards and safety compliance. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the telecommunications or related industry.
• Proven leadership to motivate and manage a team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with field management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily field operations, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching of field technicians.
• Lead outside plant field technicians responsible for customer service installations, testing, activations, troubleshooting, and turn-ups.
• Oversee customer orders from fieldwork readiness through activation and completion.
• Monitor progress of customer turn-ups and address issues that may affect completion dates.
• Coordinate field activities with Service Delivery, Engineering, NOC, Outside Plant, customers, vendors, and partner carriers.
• Ensure completed services meet technical standards and that testing, documentation, updates, and closeout information are completed accurately.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify work quality, provide technical guidance, and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Provide technical support and assist field technicians with troubleshooting installation, fiber, and service activation issues.
• Coach, train, and develop field technicians with clear expectations and accountability.
• Support network maintenance, service restoration, and other field activities as needed.
• Identify and implement improvements to field processes and communication.
