Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to design Outside Plant Pathways and building systems across multiple locations in the United States. The role focuses on MMR/IDF layouts, cable tray layouts, wireless APs, and structured cabling to support the Controls Network.

The ideal candidate has strong Revit and AutoCAD experience, 3–5 years in low voltage systems, and the ability to travel to project sites. Excellent communication skills and a safety-conscious mindset are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience designing low voltage systems for high performing commercial, industrial, or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, highly organized, self-starter.
• Ability to travel to project sites.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and policies.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to perform BIM/CAD design assignments supporting multiple engineering disciplines.
• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D BIM models using Revit or equivalent.
• Design low voltage systems including telecommunications, audio visual, security, and controls integrations.
• Meet required schedules while delivering high quality work.
• Perform QA/QC of design packages and site/building technology tasks.
• Develop layouts, floor plans, and riser diagrams for projects.
• Prepare cable schedules and specifications.
• Support the team during design and construction stages.
• Lead Telecom design tasks and mentor junior designers.
• Attend client meetings and integrate project requirements.
