Job summary

WSP Global Inc. through kW Mission Critical Engineering is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to sit in Troy, NY or other offices.

You will design Outside Plant pathways and building systems, including MMR/IDF layouts, cable tray layouts, and structured cabling to support the controls network. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience designing low voltage systems for mission critical or data center environments, proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites.
• 3-5 years of experience designing low voltage systems for high performing commercial, industrial, or mission critical/data center buildings.

Responsibilities

• Design BIM/CAD drawings and 3D models using Revit or similar BIM program.
• Design low voltage systems including telecommunications, AV, security, and control integrations.
• Produce cable schedules and specifications.
• Support multiple engineering disciplines and perform QA/QC of design packages.
• Lead telecom design teams and mentor junior designers.
