Job summary

kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to sit in any of our kW office locations. You will design Outside Plant Pathways, MMR/IDF layouts, Cable Tray layouts, and structured cabling to support the Controls Network in mission critical facilities.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience designing low voltage systems, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience designing low voltage systems for high performing commercial, industrial, or mission critical/data center buildings
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel to project sites
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and company policies

Responsibilities

• Work independently on BIM/CAD design assignments
• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D BIM Models using Revit or equivalent
• Design low voltage systems including telecommunications, audio visual, security, and building controls
• Meet schedules while maintaining quality
• Lead Telecom design team on projects and mentor junior designers
• Prepare cable schedules and specifications
• Support design and construction phases of projects
