Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Telecommunications Designer to join the kW Mission Critical Engineering practice. You will design Outside Plant Pathways and other building systems to support the Controls Network on data center projects.

The ideal candidate is highly experienced with Revit and AutoCAD, capable of producing 2D drawings and 3D BIM models, and comfortable collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years designing low voltage systems for commercial, industrial, or data center buildings.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit for BIM/CAD designs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Commitment to workplace safety and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on BIM/CAD design assignments supporting multiple disciplines.
• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D BIM models using Revit or CAD tools.
• Design low voltage systems including telecoms, audio visual, security, and controls integrations.
• Meet schedules while delivering quality design packages.
• Perform QA/QC of design packages.
• Develop layouts for equipment, conveyance, floors, and risers.
• Prepare cable schedules and specifications for construction.
• Support design and construction phases of projects.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams for drawings and specifications.
• Lead telecom design efforts and mentor junior designers.
