Job summary

Aggreko is hiring a Technician 1 Power based in New Iberia, LA. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC, and oil-free air compressors.

You will be based at the New Iberia service center with opportunities for overtime, weekend work, and potential travel to customer sites. A High School diploma and 4+ years’ generator experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 4+ years working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Ability to calculate nominal and effective kW requirements and read schematics.
• May need to obtain TWIC card or valid DOT medical card as per customer requirements.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 60–75 lbs and move equipment when required.

What you'll do:

• You'll be based out of our New Iberia, LA service center.
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally on customer locations and handle the repairs.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

• Availability to work the assignedschedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be onstandbyfor work outside of regularly scheduledshifts
• Willingness to work offshore on an on-call schedule basis to respond to our customers.
• Must be able to stand,walkand sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrainwith functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that willpermitwork to be safely performed from ground / floor level tofull overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items,functional hand-eye coordination, andfunctionally grip with adequate strength to safelyhold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
