Job summary

Aggreko, LLC is seeking a Technician 1 Power to be based in New Iberia, LA. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution, HVAC, and oil-free air compressors.

You may work overtime and weekends with some travel; a valid driver’s license is required and you should be able to meet physical demands of the job. Training and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators.
• Ability to read schematics and calculate kW requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally on customer locations and handle the repairs.
• Based on the customer requirements, travel and overtime may be required.
• Maintain safety standards and pass required assessments.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Technician 1 Power based in New Iberia, LA. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on. From world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades. What you’ll do: You’ll be based out of our New Iberia, LA service center. You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors. Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and occasionally on customer locations and handle the repairs. You are: High School diploma/GED 4+ years of experience working on power generators, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Experience with calculating nominal and effective kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics. Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card Valid driver’s license Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs. Other essential job requirements Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts Willingness to work offshore on an on-call schedule basis to respond to our customers. Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat Our people are can-do, positive, resilient and persistent.
