Technical Writer

Seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer for Maintenance Operations in Pensacola, Florida. This role involves creating and maintaining technical documentation to support organizational operations with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial maintenance environments, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to interpret OEM manuals and technical drawings.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update user manuals, guides, preventive maintenance (PM) work orders, job plans, and technical documentation within the Maximo CMMS.
• Review and validate maintenance instructions against OEM manuals and technical specifications to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current maintenance practices.
• Validate labor estimates, job steps, and task sequencing to ensure they accurately reflect field execution and operational standards.
• Revise and standardize documentation to align with OEM procedures, internal standards, and best documentation practices.
• Produce clear, consistent, and well-structured technical content to improve readability, usability, and effectiveness of maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, reliability engineers, and cross-functional teams to gather technical information, obtain feedback, and validate documentation updates.
• Support data entry, document control, configuration management, and related activities within Maximo as required.
• Document technical activities and prepare clear, detailed reports.
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all technical content while adhering to established documentation standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet physical demands associated with a Maintenance function job profile, including climbing ladders and stairs, bending, twisting, and maneuvering in tight or elevated spaces to safely access equipment.
• Ability to transition between elevated work areas to inspect, photograph, and document equipment, systems, and maintenance activities in an industrial environment while adhering to all safety requirements and PPE standards.
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Familiarity with Maximo or other CMMS platforms preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy, consistency, and formatting.
• Excellent written communication and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and common PDF editing tools.
• Willing and able to work early-in, late, and/or overtime including weekends on short notice.
• Willing and able to work any shift including split shift and across shifts.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay Rate: $35.61/hour
• Schedule: 6am - 4:30pm or 7am - 5:30pm, Monday - Thursday.
• After meeting the qualification requirements, employees are offered through Landrum: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance and matching 401k.
