Job summary

Aditi Consulting is seeking a technical writer for maintenance documentation in Pensacola, FL. You will develop and update manuals, guides, and CMMS entries within Maximo, ensuring accuracy and alignment with OEM specifications.

You will collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, and reliability engineers to gather information, validate content, and produce clear reports. The role requires attention to detail and proficiency in Word/Excel and PDF editing tools.

Payrate:

$28.00 - $30.00/hr.

Summary:

With minimal supervision, creates and maintains technical documentation to support organizational operations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and update user manuals, guides, preventive maintenance work orders, job plans, and technical documentation within the Maximo CMMS.
• Review and validate maintenance instructions against OEM manuals and technical specifications to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current maintenance practices.
• Validate labor estimates, job steps, and task sequencing to ensure they accurately reflect field execution and operational standards.
• Revise and standardize documentation to align with OEM procedures, internal standards, and best documentation practices.
• Produce clear, consistent, and well-structured technical content to improve readability, usability, and effectiveness of maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, reliability engineers, and cross-functional teams to gather technical information, obtain feedback, and validate documentation updates.
• Support data entry, document control, configuration management, and related activities within Maximo as required.
• Document technical activities and prepare clear, detailed reports.
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all technical content while adhering to established documentation standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Ability to meet physical demands associated with a Maintenance function job profile, including climbing ladders and stairs, bending, twisting, and maneuvering in tight or elevated spaces to safely access equipment.
• Ability to transition between elevated work areas to inspect, photograph, and document equipment, systems, and maintenance activities in an industrial environment while adhering to all safety requirements and PPE standards.
• Familiarity with Maximo or other CMMS platforms preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy, consistency, and formatting.
• Excellent written communication and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and common PDF editing tools.
• Willing and able to work early-in, late, and/or overtime including weekends on short notice.
• Willing and able to work any shift including split shift and across shifts.

Skills:

• Trade certification or associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.
• Previous experience standardizing PM programs or contributing to CMMS improvements or upgrades.
• Knowledge of Lean Maintenance, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), or similar methodologies.

Pay Transparency:

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $28.00 - $30.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
