Job summary

RISINGSUN TECHNOLOGIES is seeking a Technical Writer for Maintenance Operations in Pensacola, FL. The role combines technical writing with hands-on equipment inspection within an industrial setting.

You will develop and maintain manuals, work orders, and PM procedures in Maximo, ensuring alignment with OEM specs and internal standards. Strong writing and documentation discipline are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Excellent written communication and technical writing skills.
• Strong attention to documentation accuracy, consistency, and formatting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and common PDF editing tools.
• Ability to safely climb ladders and stairs, bend, twist, and maneuver in tight or elevated spaces to access equipment.
• Willingness and ability to work early starts, late hours, overtime, and weekends on short notice.
• Flexibility to work any shift, including split shifts and across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update user manuals, guides, preventive maintenance work orders, job plans, and technical documentation within Maximo CMMS.
• Validate maintenance instructions against OEM manuals and technical specifications.
• Verify labor estimates, job steps, and task sequencing against actual field execution and standards.
• Standardize documentation to align with OEM procedures, internal standards, and best practices.
• Create clear, consistent instructions that improve the usability and effectiveness of maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, reliability engineers, and cross‑functional teams to gather information and validate updates.
• Support data entry, document control, and configuration management within Maximo.
• Document technical activities and prepare detailed reports.
