Job summary

TEKsystems in La Crosse, WI seeks a contract IT Help Desk Technician to troubleshoot a wide range of hardware, software, and connectivity issues for end users. You will support both remote and onsite users in a fast-paced environment.

Description

Join a fast-paced IT support team where youll have the opportunity to troubleshoot a wide variety of technical issues, work directly with end users, and gain hands-on experience across hardware, software, peripherals, and video conferencing technology.

What Youll Be Doing:

• Serve as a go-to technical resource, responding to Help Desk requests by phone and email in a 24/7 support environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, application, and connectivity issues for end users
• Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, copiers, projectors, and other peripheral equipment
• Prepare and deploy new computers, including connecting equipment, installing software, and ensuring everything is ready for the user
• Provide friendly, hands-on technical support both remotely and onsite
• Help employees better understand their technology by walking them through solutions and best practices
• Support video conferencing hardware and software to help meetings run smoothly
• Identify whether technical issues are related to equipment, applications, or the network and escalat[e?] when additional support is needed
• Evaluate software updates and application patches to help resolve desktop issues
• Track incidents and service requests while maintaining clear and accurate documentation
• Manage inventory of commonly used IT equipment and supplies and request additional hardware as needed
• Assist walk-in users at the front desk and help track incoming and outgoing computer equipment
• Maintain printers, scanners, and other office technology
• Bring strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-first mindset to every interaction
• Take on additional IT support responsibilities as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
