Job summary

Tanium seeks a motivated undergraduate intern to join as a Summer Technical Solutions Engineer. You will work with a 1:1 mentor on real-world customer problems in security, operations, asset management, and risk management, contributing to triage and root cause analysis on live Tanium deployments.

You will support security operations including forensics, threat intelligence, and incident response, and assist with patching, compliance, and automation, while learning to upgrade Tanium platforms

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a college or university.
• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Eligible graduation dates: December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future.

Job description

• Work with a 1:1 mentor TSE on real-world customer problems in security, operations, asset management, and risk management
• Contribute to triaging technical issues, engaging with customers, and conducting root cause analysis on live Tanium production implementations
• Support security efforts including forensics, cyber threat intelligence, and incident response
• Support operations efforts including compliance, vulnerability scanning, patching, and integrity monitoring
• Assist with general automation
• Assist customers with Tanium platform and module upgrades
• Partner with other TSEs on assigned cases
• Shape, execute, and deliver special projects with peer interns
• Develop understanding of Tanium product technology and how to support, operate, and integrate it
• Document best practices, track activity, document root causes, and complete accurate reports
• Rigorously test the product in a home lab environment

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future
• Availability to work full-time from June 7, 2027 – August 13, 2027
• Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a college or university
• Eligible graduation dates: December 2027 or Spring 2028
• GPA of 3.5 or above
• Some experience with endpoints, networking or operating systems/servers
• IT Helpdesk experience preferred
• Other experience working with customers is a plus
• Ability to work independently with good judgement and attention to detail
• Commitment to creating an amazing customer experience
