Job summary

Motorola Solutions’ Silvus Technologies unit seeks a highly capable Technical Product Manager (EW/Sensing) to translate complex defense requirements into hardware and software specs. You will own NPI cycles, drive edge-node transceiver optimization, and collaborate across R&D, engineering, and field teams.

This role is hybrid in Irvine, CA with potential remote work for US-based candidates and travel up to 25–50% to support testing and customer integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, RF Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical product management or systems engineering experience within the defense, aerospace, or wireless communications industries.
• Strong working knowledge of wireless communications, RF systems, signal processing, SDRs, mesh networking, or electromagnetic spectrum operations.
• Demonstrated ability to translate high-level military or tactical use cases into logical and structured technical requirements.
• Proven track record of influencing cross-functional engineering, operations, and sales teams without direct authority to meet rigid release dates.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities

• Translating high-level tactical EW mission capabilities into granular, software user stories and hardware/sensor configurations.
• Directing the technical requirements, driving physical hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles, and validating the end-to-end user experience for the FASST Handheld and LSNRS product portfolios.
• Owning and defining how the transceiver operates for edge node operations.
• Collaborating closely with hardware and software engineering teams.
• Managing sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadences for specialized EW-related software features, firmware builds, and technical updates.
• Conducting technical analysis of customer feature requests, evaluating engineering timelines, and establishing scope boundaries.
• Overseeing the technical lifecycle and physical hardware NPI of FASST and LSNRS products.
• Measuring product performance and driving continuous software refinement cycles.
• Bridging R&D, engineering, operations, and GTM teams to align product execution with strategy.
• Translating operator feedback into actionable feature priorities.
• Supporting defense integrators and validating plug-and-play integrations.
• Travel up to 25% for field testing and customer engagements.
