Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Technical Product Manager to translate EW mission needs into hardware configurations, software specs, and an optimal operator experience. You’ll own NPI, drive backlogs, and enable edge-node transceiver performance for defense-grade sensing platforms.

The role reports to Product Management, is hybrid at Irvine, CA with up to 25–50% travel, and requires active US clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, RF Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years in technical product management or systems engineering in defense, aerospace, or wireless.
Strong knowledge of wireless communications, RF systems, signal processing, SDRs, mesh networking, or electromagnetic spectrum operations.
Ability to translate high-level military or tactical use cases into technical requirements.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional engineering, operations, and sales teams to meet release dates.
Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months; must be a U.S. citizen.
Background check and drug test clearance required.

Responsibilities

Translate tactical EW requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Drive hardware NPI cycles for FASST Handheld and LSNRS product portfolios.
Define edge-node operation and ownership of transceiver behavior.
Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams.
Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadences for EW software features.
Oversee product lifecycle, regulatory clearance, deployment, and sustainment.
